Most items can be packed and shipped to arrive next day upon receipt of payment.
This includes many of the electronic items, tools, bedding, toys, gadgets, toiletries, small appliances and similar. Most of these are immediately available from stocks we hold or on behalf of our suppliers. For such items, you will see that delivery costs are automatically added to your invoice.
We pick these items every day and goods are picked, packed and shipped in our own purpose designed boxes and our re-cycled filler, in the order that payments are received. For example:
- Auction ends Monday
- Invoices sent Tuesday
- Payment received Tuesday evening
- Goods packed and shipped Tuesday / Wednesday
- Items arrive Wednesday / Thursday
These timescales may be slightly extended during busy periods, but we endeavour to send out items as soon as possible. Please note that we can only ship once payment is received.
Some items are held off-site and must first be delivered to our premises by a third party before they are available for delivery/collection. This can add up to 12 working days to the process.
Shipping to a UK Destination via DPD, with a valid postcode – the following prices should be taken as a guide only:
Items weighing under 2kgs – from £8.50;
Items weighing between 2kgs and 10kgs – from £10;
Larger items over 10kgs and up to 20kgs – from £15 (insured for loss, not damage).
Standard conditions limit liability to a maximum cover per consignment of £10 per kilo with an excess of £50. Exclusions apply and some goods travel at own risk, such as all fragile items (glass, china, pictures, liquids and similar).
PLEASE NOTE that the above prices do not include shipment of TVs, monitors or other large and fragile items (such as generators for example). These will typically be shipped via pallet instead. We will only ship these items via courier if you are willing to accept responsibility for the item in transit.
If you have included a mobile phone number on your registration, we will pass this on to the courier company and the driver will send you a text to advise an approximate delivery time on the day of delivery. If you are not in when delivery is attempted, the shipment will return to the local depot for you to collect or re-arrange delivery.
Larger items are usually shipped by pallet via Pallex.
This includes TVs, monitors, garden furniture, tool chests, large / heavier items such as generators and large mixed consignments of stock. We have tested many different methods of shipping TVs etc and we have found that carefully preparing each pallet and insuring all items are properly protected – sometimes by customising or combining two pallets – is the safest method.
It’s certainly possible to send TVs through the courier network with little or no protection, but we’d much rather such items arrived in pristine condition every time. General stock is sent with a weight-based insurance, whilst TVs are sent with extra insurance because of the increased values. Typically pallets take 3-6 days to arrive. Personal collection from our site in St. Albans is also an option, whereby the buyer takes responsibility for the safe transportation of the goods.
Grill Cabins and Hot Tubs are also sent by pallet.
These are shipped to the UK via truck and ferry. In most cases we can expect the consignments to arrive approximately 18 working days after payment is received. Sometimes this timeframe will be shorter but occasionally it may take longer.
Factors affecting timescales include:
- Weather conditions
- Transport issues
- Public holidays
- Transport related strikes and industrial disputes
- Maximising truck fill and weight
- A delay in buyer communication
Cabins are sometimes shipped on very large pallets that will require unloading by forklift capable of lifting 3 tonnes or more. We can assist with this and we’ll let you know full dimensions of your cabin to enable safe off –loading. If necessary, we can put you in touch with transport companies that we’ve used successfully in the past, including trucks with hiab crane to unload to your site.
It is possible to collect some smaller cabins by van, but this is entirely at the buyer’s risk. If you would prefer to collect, please inform us at your earliest convenience and confirm the date of collection by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, including the invoice number for your order. If anyone is collecting on your behalf, please ensure they have a copy of the invoice.
We will always try to arrange delivery direct to the buyer, but if that’s not possible the shipment will be directed to our premises for onward shipping. It’s always a good idea to keep in touch with us regularly during the lead time as often Cabins arrive at quite short notice and we’d like to be able to arrange delivery or collection to get the cabin to our customers as quickly as possible.
